IMPORTANT EVENTS / INFORMATION IN OUR CLASS

KC Kid of the Week : April 13

I will send your child home with an all about me poster to fill out on Thursday (of the week its your child's turn). Please fill out and return the poster on the following Monday. Then on Thursday of that week, your child can bring in anything that would like to show / share with the class. This will also be the day that we read through the poster and write about the KC Kid of the Week!

Mystery Bags

On Thursday, I will send each student home with a brown paper bag and a piece of paper stating what letter they are on that week. I will do this every week. Please return the bag on the following Thursday with an item that starts with that letter (has to fit in the bag) as well as three clues about the item. The class will try and guess what is in the bag! Be original so everyone doesn't have the same thing in their bag!

I try to have each student read their own clues so please do it WITH them and practice the clues so that they can present what is in their bag instead of me doing it for them. We will do this every week!

Please keep care of the brown bag that I send home as I only switch them out a few times throughout the rest of the school year.

Field Trip

Everyone has been sent home with the field trip note. We will be going to the Children's Museum in Brookings, SD. The cost of this is $9.00 per student. Please bring this amount with the bottom part of the note by April 22nd.

We also need chaperones!! There is a part on the note that asks if you will be attending as well. If you decide to, your admission fee will also be $9.00 and can be sent to school with your student.

Please note that if you have a membership, you will not be able to use it for this trip because we are receiving a group rate. Thank you for understanding!

T-Shirt for Field Trip

We are asking that all students bring in a white t-shirt by April 10th for our field trip. We will be putting a Tri-Valley Logo on the shirt with vinyl. This will be worn for the field trip so that it is easier to tell who are Tri-Valley Students when at the Children's Museum.

Time Capsule Project

To finish the year, we will be creating a "time capsule." Everything will be stored in a 9"x12" manila envelop so items will need to be mostly flat. Please send up to 10 items to be sealed inside.

Possible ideas are included in the note. Please know that you are not limited to just these ideas.

The time capsule items need to be sent by May 14th. Please note that this is not a requirement but a fun thing to open and look back on when your child finishes high school. The more intentional you are with what is put in, the more meaningful it will be later.

Kindergarten Graduation

Our Kindergarten Graduation will be on May 14th @12:00 in the Crooks Elementary Gym. All are welcome to attend!

****TIME HAS CHANGED DUE TO 1:00 DISMISSAL BECAUSE OF TRACK MEET****

You are still welcome to take your child at the end of the graduation! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Family Fun Night

On Saturday, April 11 - Tri-Valley Elementary will have our Spring Family Fun Night at the Colton Elementary School. There will be an inflatable, a variety or games, and 9 square. Please consider attending!

NHS Penny Wars

Bring in pennies to put in the bucket you want to win.

Bring other coins/cash to put in the bucket that you do not want to win.

Penny wars runs from April 1st - April 23rd

The jars are labeled Kindergarten through 4th grade.
