KC Kid of the Week : March 16

I will send your child home with an all about me poster to fill out on Thursday (of the week its your child's turn). Please fill out and return the poster on the following Monday. Then on Thursday of that week, your child can bring in anything that would like to show / share with the class. This will also be the day that we read through the poster and write about the KC Kid of the Week!

Mystery Bags

(Look at the Mystery Bag Sheet sent home to see what letter is your child's)

On Thursday, I will send each student home with a brown paper bag and a piece of paper stating what letter they are on that week. I will do this every week. Please return the bag on the following Thursday with an item that starts with that letter (has to fit in the bag) as well as three clues about the item. The class will try and guess what is in the bag! Be original so everyone doesn't have the same thing in their bag!

I try to have each student read their own clues so please do it WITH them and practice the clues so that they can present what is in their bag instead of me doing it for them. We will do this every week!

Please keep care of the brown bag that I send home as I only switch them out a few times throughout the rest of the school year.

Field Trip

Everyone has been sent home with the field trip note. We will be going to the Children's Museum in Brookings, SD. The cost of this is $9.00 per student. Please bring this amount with the bottom part of the note by April 22nd.

We also need chaperones!! There is a part on the note that asks if you will be attending as well. If you decide to, your admission fee will also be $9.00 and can be sent to school with your student.

Please note that if you have a membership, you will not be able to use it for this trip because we are receiving a group rate. Thank you for understanding!

Published Book

We will be publishing a book about our school year. Each student will choose something that we did throughout the year and then write and draw about it. Everyone is able to order a copy of this book if they would like. It will be $25 to purchase a copy. Please either follow the link below to purchase online OR bring cash or check to conferences. I will have everyone sign a sheet saying that they either have ordered or would not like to purchase the book. This allows us to get a class copy of the book. If you choose not to purchase a book, you will still receive the book, it just wont be a hard copy book. I will have both types of books (the $25 one and the free version to show you at conferences if you are not sure what you would like)
