INTRODUCTION TO ARTS/ A/V TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATIONS

Length/Credit:      One Semester, Two Hour block, 1 credit | this course will fulfill Fine Art graduation requirement

Prerequisite:         None, Open to grade 9-12

Get your start in the Media Industry!  Students will learn a variety of software applications, including the Adobe Creative Cloud, as they plan, script, record, and edit their own media arts related projects.  In this course students will earn both their Fine Arts credits required for graduation!  Intro to Arts and A/V Tech allows students to explore the media arts industry as they create videos, animations, graphic art and other projects.  This course is a prerequisite for Digital Animation, Digital Filmmaking, Digital Music, and Broadcast Production. 

DIGITAL FILMMAKING & A/V PRODUCTION

Lights, Camera, Action… in Digital Filmmaking and Audio/Visual Production will create a variety of digital media productions including short films, music videos and reality shows.  From scripting to editing, this course offers students the opportunity to experience all aspects of the film industry.  Students will gain skills in writing scripts, camera operation, lighting, audio recording techniques, editing, and production principles. In addition, students will learn about career opportunities that are available to them. Students whose career interests are in digital video technologies will benefit from this overall production techniques applied in this course. 

BROADCAST PRODUCTIONS

Learn Everything it takes to work in the broadcast industry. Designed to prepare high school students for professional employment or further education in the career fields of televised sports, live news production, entertainment television, and a variety of other live studio applications. Students in this course will gain th experience necessary to work in the broadcast industry as they create programming for KLRN-TV.

DIGITAL MUSIC PRODUCTION

Length/Credit:      One Semester, Two Hour block, 1 credit

Want to make your own record? In this class, turning your music down is not always required! Students will develop the technical skills to operate the necessary equipment to take their music from concept to completion. Students will develop knowledge of the business of music, music copyright, and the use of electronic music in the Entertainment Business, Computer Gaming, Internet Technology and Music Production fields. The Digital Music Production course provides students the basic knowledge and technical skills needed to prepare them for post-secondary study or entry-level employment in the Digital Music Production industry. 

DIGITAL ANIMATION

Length/Credit:      One Semester, Two Hour block, 1 credit

Put your art in motion with Digital Animation! Seen on YouTube, in gaming, on television, and in the movies, Digital Animation is everywhere! This course will teach students the knowledge and skills required to work in any aspect of the animation industry.  Use a variety of industry standard computer software applications to create 2D and 3D animations.  The only limitation of this course is your imagination! 

The Media Production Internship will be offered through the Senior Capstone experience as described at the end of the CTE Academy course listings.
