Program Dates: June 27 - July 12  (Holiday July 4 & July 5)

Overview

Waiākea High School's Summer Bridge Program is tailored to provide incoming ninth graders a seamless transition into high school. This program concentrates on fundamental subjects such as math, English language arts, and science, ensuring that students have the necessary skills to thrive academically both in high school and beyond.

Beyond academics, the program introduces students to various career pathways through hands-on experiences in each of our career academies. This allows students to explore potential career options and gain valuable insights into their areas of interest.

On campus, the program places an emphasis on developing leadership skills and encourages engagement within the school community. Upperclassmen and recent alumni play an active role in welcoming and supporting the incoming students to develop a greater sense of belonging.

The Waiākea High School's Summer Bridge Program offers a valuable opportunity to prepare for high school success. By focusing on academic readiness, career exploration, and employability skills, the program ensures a smooth transition and sets students up for a successful high school journey.

Upon successful completion of the program (*pass/fail), students will earn 1 semester elective High School credit.

*To earn semester credit, students must not be absent for more than 1 day and successfully complete course requirements. Students who fail to meet both of those requirements will not receive credit. Failure to do so will not affect a student's GPA.
