Highlands Intermediate School is adapting to a hybrid/blended model with face-to-face classes, independent learning, and virtual learning.

Synchronous learning: occurring at the same time, assigned times (refer to bell schedule); following school schedule (periods 1-6)

• Face-to-face: at school, following the bell schedule

• Virtually: at home on Google Meet, following the bell schedule

Asynchronous learning: outside of scheduled times, no scheduled periods

• Teachers provide instructional materials for independent learning

• Takes place at home via Google Classroom, may be completed outside of scheduled class times.

• Students must check in before the end of the school day to be marked present for asynchronous attendance that day

  • Students may complete the work on their own time throughout the day

August 08, 2020 Update: All Oahu public schools will start school on August 17, 2020 100% DISTANCE LEARNING.
