2022-2023 NHD Planning Schedule
Here are the major deadlines and significant dates for Mrs. Pratt's Ho'Onui Ike students to meet this year:
September 2 - Parent information night for Questions and Answers with Mrs. Pratt at 5pm at her WebEx link (will be recorded if anyone misses it)
September 23 - Sign your contract for your competition category and whether you are competing solo or with a team
September 30 - Sign your contract for your final decision of research topic. Submit your competition photo portrait, shirt size, and parent email.
October 1 - We do not have school, but you may come on campus to work with Mrs. Pratt in an NHD workshop 8am until 11am if you sign up
October 8 - We do not have school, but you may come on campus to work with Mrs. Pratt in an NHD workshop 9am until noon if you sign up
November 1 - Finalize your thesis statement
November 8 - We do not have school for election day, but you can come to an NHD workshop with Mrs. Pratt 9am until noon if you sign up
November 11 - We do not have school for Veteran's day, but you can come to an NHD workshop with Mrs. Pratt 9am until noon if you sign up
November 14 - Projects with scripts, outlines, and timed concepts should be finalized so you can start production and editing
November 28 - We will finalize the appearance and outline of our annotated bibliographies (alphabetical order, primary vs secondary sources)
December 1 - We will peer evaluate each other's projects and use their feedback to perfect our projects over the month of December
December 12 - If you want to sign up for my George Washington Leadership Study, today is the deadline to sign up for it (begins after Winter Break)
December 29 and 30 - We do not have school, but you may come on campus for an NHD workshop with Mrs. Pratt 9am until noon if you sign up
January 14 - The last and final NHD workshop opportunity with Mrs. Pratt 9am until noon if you sign up
January 25 - All projects must be completely finished and ready for competition
January 28 - If we need a school level competition, it will take place on this day. You do not need to be present. Judges will look at projects alone.
February 9 - Online registration for the District competition closes.
March 11 - Tentative date for in person District competition at Chaminade University (subject to change if COVID forces competition to be remote)
