Kona Community Hospital - Surgical Technology Program
The Surgical Technologist is a team member in the operating room under the direct supervision of a qualified professional surgical team. Surgical technologists are responsible for creating and maintaining a sterile surgical field, assisting the surgeon during a procedure, understanding the process, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and maintaining a safe environment for the patient.
As a student in our full-time program, you will experience over 900 hands-on clinical hours in skills labs and hospital ambulatory surgery settings. Upon completion, you will be eligible to take the Certified Surgical Technologist exam.
Associates-level college courses required; they can help you work with HHC-Pālamanui.
