Assessments:

Students will be given assessments in all subject areas (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies) to see where they are at in their understanding of the content learned. Writing, math, science, and social studies assessments will be given at the end of each completed unit. 

Starting from Unit 1 in our Wonders reading curriculum, students will be given a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the week that covers the skills worked on during the week along with a spelling quiz. The list of spelling words will be on the weekly Wonders overview sheet that will be in your child’s folder. A portion of this assessment includes listening/reading comprehension.

For Units 1 – 3 I will be reading aloud the story along with the questions on the assessment to the students. Starting from Unit 4- 6 the assessment will be completely independent – students will be asked to read the short story on their own as well as all other questions. They will also complete a short, written response to the story.
