My name is Trisha Mae Guillermo and I am thrilled to be able to work with you this year! As we are going to be working with each other, here are a few things that I would like to share about myself. I was born and raised on O‘ahu and I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Hawai‘i at West O‘ahu pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. I will be student teaching with F2a for the first semester. Although I attend school on the west side of the island, I am from Kalihi and a proud 2019 graduate of Farrington High School. During my free time I like to go to the beach, hike, take photos, do bullet journaling, and read.
I was inspired to enter the field of education by many former teachers who have helped me throughout my years of schooling. My passion for teaching was further strengthened in high school when I was given the opportunity to work with elementary students and staff. It cemented my desire to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. I love to see the growth in the students’ work, lessons learned from mistakes, and watching students apply the knowledge they have gained.
I believe that students can be teachers too. It is important for teachers and students to learn from each other and work together so we can make the most of our time. I look forward to experiencing school with Ms. Evans and all of you to make it a wonderfully productive school year here at Hahaione Elementary!
