Hi, I’m Sydney (a.k.a ‘Miss Sydney’ to many students)!
I’m currently in my final semester at Kapiolani Community College studying to earn my
associates in Liberal Arts with a Focus on Elementary Education before I advance
forward to University of Manoa’s College of Education for my Bachelor’s Degree. I have
been given the incredible opportunity to be working alongside Ms. Evans in her
classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the school year to enhance
my learning and gain valuable experience within the classroom.
I was born and raised here in Hawai’i on the island of O’ahu and a Kaiser High School
graduate. I'm someone with a very radiant personality, motivation to always try my best,
and a heart that is way bigger than my body. I always strive to be truly and authentically
myself as seen by my incredibly vibrant hair and unique sense of style. If I'm not at
school or studying, you can find me at work! I ironically attended Hahaione myself as a
kid and I have been working on campus as well since 2020 wearing a lot of hats and
playing a lot of roles: Paraprofessional Tutor, Educational Assistant, and A+ Program
Group Leader just to name a few. Some students might even be pretty familiar with me! I
love working and interacting with the kids, I love helping them out in the classroom, I
love building bonds with them. This was the job that motivated me to change my major
from Culinary over to Primary Education! These jobs have truly changed the course of
my life and have taught me more than I could have ever imagined. There’s so much that
you can learn from kids, and I think that’s what I love most about my job(s); I'm always
learning something new and growing alongside the kids.
Some quick fun facts about me:
★ I collect records and CDs since I love music with my favorite genre being classic
rock & metal
★ My favorite animals are jellyfish, cows, and unicorns!
★ I love to crochet, embroider, and bake as a creative outlet
★ My favorite movies are Treasure Planet, Front of the Class, and The Phantom of
the Opera
I can’t wait to see how I grow alongside the students and experience new things that
await me this semester!
