The Modern Language Association created the MLA style of citations. At Kaimuki Middle School, MLA is the style of citations for all classes except Gr. 7 and 8 Science. Here are some reminders:

• The Works Cited page should be at the end of your essay or project. It should have its own page.

• Font - Times New Roman, size 12

• The first line of the citation starts at the left margin, all other lines of the citation are indented (hanging indent)

• Double Space the entire page of Works Cited

• Alphabetize all citations by 1st word. Do not alphabetize with “A”, “An”, or “The,” numbers come before letters

• The Works Cited (top of page) must be by itself, on the last page of the document

• You may use an electronic citation maker such as Citation Machine but you are ultimately responsible for having complete and correct citations.
