Always Available Magazines in Sora

Suggested Uses:

  1. Locate a magazine and share the link with your students in your Google classroom. Ask students to read an article, then share the articleʻs main idea and three supporting details, or find evidence of bias in the authorʻs point of view. Good choices for this assignment: New Scientist, National Geographic, or Sports Illustrated Kids.

  2. Share a magazine that is relevant to your subject matter and ask students to find an article that discusses something you have talked about in class or that they hope you will talk about in class. Good choices for this assignment: American History Magazine, Popular Woodworking, Bon Appetit

There are seventy magazine titles available. You can borrow them with your employee ID number. Students use their Student ID number.

You can:

  • borrow a teen readalong or audiobook and play it as students enter or exit to facilitate quiet movement

  • assign a magazine article, book chapter, or even an entire book from the always available collection

  • link to a book or magazine in your google classroom or student assignment document

  • have students highlight important passages or new vocabulary from the integrated dictionary and share them in a class book discussion

  • Email Selena or Jessica to request titles you would like to see included
