Meet Mr. Vicente

Aloha!

My name is Derek Christopher Vicente. I was born in Hilo, Hawai'i on January 18, 1967. I am the youngest of 6 children (3 brothers and 2 sisters). I graduated from Hilo High School in 1985, attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. My family consists of my wife Paula, 16 year old son Quintin, and my pet dog Fluffy.

I worked as an Elementary School Teacher for 20 years (and an Administrator for 8 1/2 years) at various schools in our Puna Community. I am currently in my first year as Vice Principal of Kea'au Elementary School. I look forward to meeting all of my new students and families, as well as working alongside my fellow colleagues and staff!
