WHY JOIN DECA?
***DECA is organized into two unique student divisions each with programs designed to address the learning styles, interest and focus of its members. The High School Division includes more than 173,000 members in 3,200 schools. The Collegiate Division includes over 4,000 members in 200 colleges and universities.
***DECA Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit student organization with more than 177,000 members in all 50 United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and Germany. The United States Congress, the United States Department of Education and state, district and international departments of education authorize DECA’s programs.
***As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.

DECA’s scholarship program provides over $200,000 in scholarships to high school and college DECA members at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) each year. Many corporate partners of DECA provide scholarships through the DECA scholarship program. DECA Inc. administers the program based on guidelines set by the donor. 2024-2025 Officers
Kapolei HIGH SCHOOL DECA was officially relaunched in 2017.
Since then:
**24-25 School Year: Currently the largest DECA Chapter Kapolei High has had:
**36 Members!!!
2024-HAWAII STATE CHAPTER OF THE YEAR
**12 students traveled to Anaheim, California in order to compete at ICDC. All students ranked proficient in their categories of Finance, Human Resources, Travel and Tourism, Community Service Event, and Innovation Business plan as well as placing in the top 20% of their event and scoring proficient
**2024-17 Students placed in the TOP 5 in their subjective categories TOP 3 winners in Human Resources, Finance, Exams, Innovative Business Plans, and Community Service Events.
**2023-13 students placed in the State top ten in several categories including TOP 3 winners in Finance, Exams, and Innovative Business Plan
**5 students traveled to Orlando, Florida in order to compete at ICDC. All students ranked proficient in their categories of Finance and Innovation Business plan as well as placing in the top 20% of their event.
**2022: 2 students -2nd place State winners in Finance
**Traveled to Atlanta to meet other DECA members and compete in the International Conference- April 2022.
**In 2020/2021 we have had 5 State winners in Finance, Marketing Communications, and Sports & Entertainment Marketing.
