Waiakea High wins Hawaii State Baseball Championship with a 3-2 win over Baldwin High

Warriors defeated the Baldwin Bears 3-2 in a thrilling matchup to win their 2nd ever Hawaii State baseball championship on Maui Saturday night.  Waiakeaʻs last championship was in 2012.  Justice Dorser was the winning pitcher and 3rd baseman Kedren Kinzie drove home the 2 winning runs to put the Warriors ahead in the 5th inning. Outfielder Kyson Wada pitched the final inning to get the save.  Earlier in the week, Waiakea beat Kalani and St. Louis to make it to the Championship.  Lastly, a special thank you goes out to the coaches:  Chris Honda (head coach), Luciano Agustin, Cheynne Hirota, Kiley Kawazoe, Leonard Pike, Clifton Silva (faculty), Shaun Suzuki, and Kyle Wada.  Mahalo to the family and fans who also traveled with the team.
