Starting in 2017, Career Academies at JCHS are designed to ensure that every student’s academic needs, interests, and aspirations are addressed.  Each academy is based upon CTE (Career and Technical Education) Career Pathways.  Each pathway’s curriculum is structured around Career Pathway Programs of Study and are partnered with core academic subjects. The rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum is focused on 21st Century skills and is based on a career theme that helps students relate academic coursework to the real world.  Academies partner with businesses to engage in real-world issues for authentic learning as well as community businesses and area colleges to gain curriculum guidance and advice. They provide first-hand on-the-job experiences through mentoring activities,  internships, and professional and academic skills needed for college and career success while in high school.
