Gain real world experience and earn a Directed Studies credit by participating in our JCHS Internship Program from February to May 2024. Enhance your learning with authentic experience!

To be considered for any of the internship positions, applicants must submit the following:
Completed Application including a current resume.
Teacher Recommendation Form (CTE teacher preferred)
Non Classroom Recommendation from an adult who has worked with the applicant for at least a year (teacher, coach, counselor, pastor, employer, etc). The recommender must include why the applicant would be a good candidate for the internship position.
Additional application requirements may be required by internship sites.
During the internship, students will need to:
Complete a total of 120 internship hours over 12 weeks, roughly 10 hours per week. Hours are a combination of internship site hours and JCHS teacher mentor meeting time.
Meet with a JCHS teacher mentor weekly (virtually or in person) during non-class hours to work on internship portfolio requirements and for mentorship.
Complete an internship portfolio via Google Classroom. Portfolio includes the following:
Problem Based Learning Project
Research paper
Presentation
Weekly reflections
Resume, Cover letter, and Thank You letter
Have transportation to and from internship site for all onsite internships
