Drivers Education
Welcome
The drivers education class at Campbell High School is a program of the Dept. of Education that operates under the State of Hawaii Dept. of Transportation. Drivers education is designed for beginning drivers to receive instruction and lessons on best practices for safe driving and preparation for taking the drivers road test.
General Information
In order to sign up for Campbell's Drivers ed course, the student must have a drivers permit.
The student must keep their permit updated throughout the drivers ed course.
There are TWO sections of drivers ed: Classroom and BTW (Behind the Wheel).
The cost to take drivers ed at JCHS is $10.
Classes on average take about 3-5 months to complete depending on the driving schedule of instructors and students.
There is a waitlist and is roughly 6-10 months long from the time of registration depending on availability of instructors.
Class Structure Information
Students must have and keep their permit updated throughout the drivers ed course.

Classroom sessions
14 units split into 14 sessions (must be able to attend ALL sessions)
14 unit exams (must pass all with 80% or better)
Final exam (must pass with an 80% or higher)
BTW (Behind the Wheel)
7 hours split into 6 sessions
Done pairs or groups of 3 around the Ewa Beach area.
Covered shoes and permit required for each lesson.

Registration Information

After registering, students will go onto a waitlist and will be contacted when their name reaches the top of the list.
