Foundations of Fire & Emergency Services is an introductory course designed to inform students about careers in emergency management and fire management services. This course serves as the foundation course for the Fire & Emergency Services program of study. Upon completion of the course, a proficient student will have foundational knowledge of the regulations, health and safety protocols, communications, and operations in emergency and fire management. Standards in this course are aligned with the National Fire Academy Fire and Emergency Services (FESHE) model. As part of a student’s program of study progression, the student will create a digital program of study portfolio, providing evidence of mastery of course standards and readiness to advance and complete the program of study.
Foundations of Law and Public Safety is an introductory course designed to inform students about careers in law enforcement, legal, and correctional systems. This Level 1 course serves as the foundation course for the Law Enforcement Services and Pre-Law programs of study. Upon completion of the course, a proficient student will have foundational knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, concepts of criminal behavior and prevention, the judicial process and an understanding of key roles and responsibilities for occupations in Law Enforcement Services and law. As part of a student’s program of study progression, the student will create a digital program of study portfolio, providing evidence of mastery of course standards and readiness to advance and complete the program of study.
