Carl began his career in health care as a Physician Assistant, but recognizing his aptitude for human capital management, moved into Human Resources Management to focus on talent development and management. As Director for one of the state’s largest health care providers, he has an extensive resume that includes notable honors such as appointment to the State of Hawai‘i Workforce Development Council and Chair of Health care Association of Hawai‘i’s Healthcare Workforce Initiative.
Today, Carl Hinson continues to work on initiatives that will preserve Hawai‘i Pacific Health’s status as the workforce development leader in the health care field in Hawai‘i. He is actively involved in the DOE’s Health Academy development and expansion, HOSA, Future Health care professionals and the health industry’s effort to bring much needed certification programs to our high schools across the state.

Dr. Dianne Bowen-Coleman is the Program Director at Hale Kipa
Dr. Dianne Bowen-Coleman is the Program Director at Hale Kipa. Dr. Bowen-Coleman has a wealth of experience working for and volunteering with many non-profits, all of which focus on the wellbeing of children, teens, young adults, and their families.
Dr. Bowen-Coleman is a summa cum laude graduate of the Royal University of Groningen School of Medicine in Groningen, The Netherlands, where she received her Medical Doctorate and Master of Science degrees and continued to their Pediatric residency program. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Chatham College
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Bowen-Coleman is a member of the James Campbell High School Academy of Health Sciences Advisory Board and the
Indigenous Education Institute Board of Directors. She is a former member of the Honolulu Intertribal Powwow Committee as well as a former executive board member of the Oahu Intertribal Council although she is still a volunteer. She spent over 18 years as a volunteer Girl Scout Leader for Girl Scouts Caribe and Girl Scouts Hawai, mentoring girls from pre-school through college, earning her the Outstanding Leader Award.
Dr. Bowen-Coleman is a fluent Dutch speaker and lived in New Mexico, Connecticut, and Puerto Rico before settling in Hawai'i with her husband and two daughters. She holds dear three Hawaiian values that have inspired her and informed her personal and
professional pursuits: ho`omau (perseverance), kakou (inclusivity), and ka lā hiki ola (optimism and promise).
Dr. Bowen-Coleman seeks out her passion for justice, education, advocacy, public health and volunteerism, and it is this foundation that motivates her both professionally and personally in her work and connection to her communities.
“I passionately believe that every child deserves a safe, healthy, supportive, and nurturing environment in which to grow, learn, achieve, and thrive,” Dr. Bowen- Coleman further stated. “I am humbled and honored to be able to serve my community and to effect positive change.”
Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB)

Timon has over 25 years of experience on O`ahu, Maui and Kaua`i in human resources, business operations, customer service, labor relations, safety and quality management.
In his current position, Timon is responsible for leading the human resource functions within Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB), including employment, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee health and wellness, payroll and labor relations.
REHAB is Hawaii's only premier, acute-care rehabilitation hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive and innovative inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. The clinical team of comprehensive rehabilitation experts and specialized programs serve individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities from injury or disease, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex orthopedics, chronic pain and more.
Along with his involvement with the Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) and various DOE Healthcare Academy Advisory Boards, Timon is dedicated to Hawai`i’s youth by being an active Big Brother mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawai`i's community and site-based programs for the past 16 years.

Sarah graduated from JCHS in 2016 and received her BS in biology (concentrated in systems and structures) with a chemistry minor from George Fox University in 2020. She is currently an osteopathic medical student at ATSU SOMA, in which she will be finishing up her last 3 years of medical school at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center. As a first generation college student and first generation Filipino-American, she is looking forward to being involved with JCHS's Academy of Health Sciences.
