IBAD Highlights

-Teacher Spotlight-

Rodney Higa

Rodney Higa, a member of our school's first graduating class (class of 1974), has been a dedicated teacher for 30 years. Currently he is the Digital Design teacher, but has also taught Photography, Electronics, Mechanical Drawing, Agriculture, and Industrial Crafts. Prior to his teaching career, he worked as a boilermaker at the Pearl Harbor Shipyard. Outside the classroom, Mr. Higa enjoys traveling, exploring Las Vegas, and anything related to Nascar. Fun fact: Mr. Higa is married to a twin and they are high school sweethearts. As you walk through the halls you may hear the students affectionately calling him "Papa Hig's." He imparts the following quote for students: "Never fear failure, cause failure is the best teacher."

-Advisory Board Member-

Michael Jenkins

Introducing Michael Jenkins, member of the International Business and Design advisory board. Michael graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Media studies. This coincides nicely with his interest in the impact media and digital literacy have in primary education. With 18 years of experience under his belt in global marketing roles spanning across the globe from Los Angeles to London, working for major companies including Google and Samsung. Michael is currently the Director of Loyalty and Customer Insight for FCH Enterprises, Inc. where he planned and launched Zippy’s first customer loyalty program, Zipster Rewards. We hope he’ll continue to inform and inspire all of our students in IBAD.
