STUDENT EXPECTATIONS

Team Lokahi Expectations:

Highlands Intermediate School implements school-wide routines and rituals that direct student behavior in the classroom. All Hui Lokahi students are expected to follow all school and classroom rules. All Hui Lokahi students are expected to show respect for self, others, and property.

Academic Support

Academic Support is available from core teachers:

Frilles (Science): Lunch everyday & Thursday 2:15-3:00 PM

Yco (ELA): Lunch everyday & Tuesday 2:15-3:00

Miyasato-Shinjo (Social Studies)- By appointment only:

Recess and Lunch everyday. Tuesday and Thursday 2:15-3:00

Scott (Math): Lunch everyday. After school by appointment.

Students may make appointments with individual teachers. They may bring lunch to the classroom during their appointment if they choose. Cancellations will be announced.

Planner Policy

Planners are used to help students stay organized and are expected in all classes every day at school. Each student will complete a Progress Update 3 times per quarter that will be stamped & verified by EACH teacher. Please sign the report by Friday as it will be a grade for period 7.

Grading & Late Work Policy

See school-wide grading and late work policy.

Infinite Campus

Students and parents/guardians will have their own IC account to access grades. Grades will be updated weekly by Monday at 8 am.

School Supplies

2 plastic portfolio with pockets
1 one-inch binder - second hand is okay (Math)
3 college ruled composition books (ELA, Social Studies, Science)
college ruled folder paper
1 each - red, blue, black pens
2 mechanical pencils with extra

lead or 24 #2 pencils

2 white erasers (separate from pencil)
2 correction tape
1 highlighter (any color)
1 thin dry erase marker
1 12-count colored pencils
Scotch transparent tape (for Science)
1 paper towel roll (for homeroom)
1 tissue box (for homeroom)
1 hand sanitizer (for homeroom)
