SDLP Program Overview

SDLP includes a teacher assigned to students. While some teachers utilize asynchronous instructional materials and assignments, it is not an independent, self-paced program.

Your Enrollment Journey

A four-step graphic for distance learning enrollment. Step 1: Contact your school. Reach out to your child's current school administrator. Step 2: Schedule a required meeting. Set up a meeting to discuss distance learning options. Step 3: Discuss your child's needs. Determine if distance learning is the right fit for your child. Step 4: Wait for Approval. Principal and complex area superintendent will review and approve enrollment.

📌 Important Notes:

The decision to enroll a student in the State Distance Learning Program is made collaboratively by your home-base school principal and the complex area superintendent. This ensures that distance learning is the best educational choice for your child.
Not all Hawaiʻi DOE public schools partner with SDLP. Some schools offer their own distance learning programs. Check with your school to confirm participation.
Hawaiʻi State Public Charter Schools do not participate in SDLP. Please contact your charter school directly for their distance learning options.

Parents please E-sign the following required forms:

Important Note: Submitting this form does not complete your enrollment. To finalize the process, you must contact your home-base school's administration to schedule a meeting and determine if distance learning is the right fit for your child.
