“There is no happiness like that of being loved by your fellow creatures, and feeling that your presence is an addition to their comfort.” – Charlotte Bronte
We are excited for the new school year to start. We look forward to sharing your time with you and supporting you through the academic year.
The mission of the Waiakea Intermediate School Counselors is to provide a comprehensive guidance program that will encourage academic achievement, assist in character development and support social and emotional well being. We will collaborate with families, community and school personnel in assisting students with acquiring the skills, knowledge and attitude needed to become effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and life long learners.
Students are assigned to a counselor based on their academic grade level. They are then followed by that counselor throughout their time at Waiakea Intermediate School. This is the counselor grade assignment for the 2025-2026 school year.
Troy Fujii: 6th Grade Counselor
Jennifer Riordan: 7th Grade Counselor
Christina Freitas: 8th Grade Counselor
How to see your counselor:
Students can complete a request for counseling using this link: Request for counseling or email their counselor and they will be called as soon as possible. Students can also let a counselor know they need to talk when they see us on campus before school / wiki / lunch.
Parents may call, parent square or a e-mail a referral.
A teacher may contact the Counseling Office if he or she feels it is necessary for a student to be seen right away.
Your counselor may call you in to the office to speak during class. This is typically done during electives.
