I'm Michael Stanley and I am the director of Ha'aheo News Now. I oversee all aspects of the show including script writing, stage setup, filming, and post-processing. During Summer 2025, I participated in a digital media camp at Nā Leo Television Studio where I learned about digital art and created a Public Service Announcement (PSA). I'm excited to share the skills I've learned on the News Show.
Iʻm Zoe and I manage the weather and lunch menu updates. It is my job to make sure the weather updates are accurate and the weekly lunch menu is correct. I like working on the news show because I find it is a good way to build self confidence. Some of my other skills are baking, knitting, and making jewelry.
Iʻm Kelstan and I am the set coordinator. I manage the lights, green screens, tripods, mics, and camera. This is a challenging job because the lighting is very specific and difficult to get just right. The equipment is also very fragile, so I need to be very careful when setting up and breaking down the set. I enjoy filming videos and taking photos.
Iʻm Caden and I am a News Anchor and Weatherman for Haʻaheo News Now. This requires a lot of self-control and professionalism. When filming I need to make sure I speak clearly, fluently, and maintain composure. The news show is helping me build confidence for when Iʻm older and need to interview for jobs and give presentations.
Iʻm Ridge and I am the assistant director for Haʻaheo News Now. I help oversee all aspects of the show and fill in as news anchor and weatherman when needed. The news show is providing me opportunities to learn new skills like public speaking and operating digital media equipment such as cameras and mics. This is helping me think more about my future and possible career paths.
