The April 2026 edition is a special edition with 10 transformative tech tips! This includes tips that specifically show the capabilities of integrating Google Gemini, Google NotebookLM, and Canva.
The March 2026 edition has information and resources related to some of the new AI features found in Canva as well as Google AI tools. Be sure to check out how to create music with Gemini and see the tips on supporting an accessible experience when creating designs in Canva.
The February 2026 edition has resources that celebrate Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month). This includes information about Kaiapuni education, resources aligned with ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi for all teachers, and how to leverage technologies to create interactive experiences.
The January 2026 edition includes some really incredible examples of AI use with the Sticky Notes to Studio Tools in NotebookLM. It also shares information related to celebrating 2026 as the year of Our Coastal Kuleana. The December 2025 edition was created in collaboration with our Computer Science education team to celebrate Computer Science Education Week! This edition also showed information about the new NotebookLM studio tools for creating an infographic and slide deck.
The November 2025 edition has many new tips! One tip in particular that is important is the time saver tip of bulk creating resources with Canva and Gemini. Also in this edition we were excited to share important information from Awaiaulu to celebrate Lā Kūoʻokoʻa!
The October 2025 edition features resources and tech tips with the Be Kind, Show Aloha campaign for Unity Day! We shared access to the resources aligned with the event for October as well as behind the scenes tips on how technology was used to create those resources!
The September 2025 edition shared about Digital Design Team (DDT) initiatives including tutor.com, Canva trainings for educators, Sora eBooks, technology integration opportunities, and more!
The August 2025 edition kicked off the SY2526 school year by celebrating our goal of reaching 808+ subscribers! This edition also shared important resources from Office of Talent Mangement, Office of Student Support Services, and the Virtual Learning Center.
The May 2025 edition highlighted the amazing work at Kaimukī Middle School with their Beyond the Horizon publication. We also are grateful to Kalani Peʻa for the opportunity for us to share about the curriculum that he developed in partnership with Carnegie Hall.
The March & April 2025 edition was a special edition highlighting examples of AI use in the Department as well as statistics about how we are currently charting new waters with AI through in person professional development, the Magic School pilot, and the DDT AI website!

The December 2024 edition shared information to help celebrate Computer Science Education Week! We are grateful that we had the opportunity to celebrate Hawaiʻi CS Students with their Hawaiʻi Annual Code Challenge. Congratulations Waipahu HS and King Kekaulike HS!
The November 2024 edition highlighted the incredible ways that technologies are being used to support Humpback Whale research! Be sure to also check out the incredible featured resources provided by the Hawaiʻi State Virtual Learning Center.
The October 2024 edition shared information about Hōkūleʻa and the incredible resources available for schools to learn about the Pae ʻĀina Statewide Sail. This edition also shared information about Lucidspark as a replacement for Google Jamboard (expiring December 2024) as a digital whiteboarding tool available to staff with their k12.hi.us login.
The September 2024 edition was our first edition of the ʻEnehana publication! Mahalo to the Pacific American Foundation for sharing about the Waikalua Loko Iʻa and the ways that technology is being used to support the work at the fishpond.
