The Ola Moku PLC will provide the knowledge and skills that will make you a better teacher for this community, these families and these students. Please email Puanani Wilhelm if you are interested in participating in the first ever Ola Moku PLC! Details will be provided at the first Ola Moku 2026 informational presentation at your school. School Year 2025-26 was year 2 of the Ola Moku Waiʻanae initiative. This complex-wide instructional focus provides both content focus (Waiʻanae centered knowledge related to wildfires, watersheds, and sustainability) and teaching practices that support deeper learning and making connections. This presentation highlights some of the school learning activities related to watershed knowledge and practices that support a healthy watershed. Great work Waiʻanae Moku!
Year 3 of the Ola Moku Intiative is focused on the sustainability goals set by the United Nations, the State of Hawaiʻi and the Moku of Waiʻanae. Teachers and students will learn about the aspects of sustainability that must be considered as we move into the future. It is essential that we begin to foster "konohiki" or stewards of our communities and lifestyles that have an understanding of the culture and environment of the past and present.
