Hawai'i Online Portal for Education (HOPE)

The Hawaiʻi Online Portal for Education (HOPE) supports and hosts free, digital curriculum content "made for Hawaiʻi teachers, by Hawaiʻi teachers."

A MESSAGE FROM HOPE:

Thank you for your interest in creating content for our Hawaiʻi Online Portal for Education, to be launched this Summer 2022!

Once live, the HOPE website will allow Hawaiʻi teachers to upload Hawaiʻi-based curriculum for other teachers to access for free. Teachers who submit curriculum are eligible to receive up to $2,000 for every unit plan they submit and as much as $5,000 in a given calendar year. We have prepared this short description of our project to briefly explain our content creation and stipend processes.

For those interested in getting a head start on the content creation process, please make sure that you have signed up for an OER institute using our google form: https://bit.ly/HOPE22Summer. If you have not done so already, the google form will help you register for a synchronous or asynchronous OER institute. Our project is committed to creating Open Education Resources (OER) and the OER institute will ensure that you create a unit plan that meets the standards of OER. Completion of an OER institute will equip teachers with the tools and know-how necessary to create an OER unit plan and successfully receive their full stipend. See additional FAQs .

Stipends for a given unit plan will be divided into two, $1000 payments. Teachers will be eligible for the first $1000 after a rough draft of their unit plan is reviewed by the HOPE team. After integrating feedback from the HOPE team, teachers will receive their first $1000 stipend. Teachers will be eligible for their second $1000 stipend after implementing their approved unit in a classroom, revising based on feedback from the HOPE team and then submitting a final draft for inclusion on the HOPE website.
