Project No Ke Ola Pono O Na Keiki is pleased to offer a limited scholarships for West Hawaii Complex Area Health & PE Teachers to take 1 course. These courses are 100% asynchronous, of high quality and content, and very benevolently structured for your busy working teacher.
A course diving into integrating and assessing SEL targets and Core Academic Subject Standards through PE lessons. Participant who successfully complete this course will earn $500 towards purchasing the instructional materials necessary to continue teaching the lessons they develope.
The free PDE3 (3 credit) course is available West Hawai'i Teachers who provide Physical Education Instruction in grade K-6. It overviews the foundations of standards based physical education and utilizes OPEN (Online Physical Education Network) as a comprehensive curriculum to utilize. Furthermore this year live instruction of this course will be led by some of our highly qualified PE teachers who have previously taken this course, to foster vertical alignment to their feeder schools. Upon successful completion participants qualify their school for the health and fitness field days & free athletic gear to bolster their schools program.
Health Education Foundations - Dates times and resources
The free PDE3 (3 credit) course is available to all teachers in the West Hawaii Complex Area. This is a hybrid course in which teachers explore various components of the A.L.O.H.A PE Project. Teachers will use teaching strategies and instructional assessment practices, to Implement the A.L.O.H.A PE Project. Teachers will use the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards III (HCPS III) benchmarks in physical education to empower their students to create a video for the A.L.O.H.A PE Project.
Teachers will collaborate with peers on various aspects of the curriculum and teaching practices used in the implementation of the A.L.O.H.A PE Project.
