The VISION of the Ilima Intermediate School Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM) Team is to be recognized as an exemplary, collaborative team that fosters a school culture defined by early intervention, trust, and resilience where every student feels secure and supported, eliminating the possibility of violence promoting optimal social emotional well-being and academic success.
The MISSION of the Ilima Intermediate School Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM) Team is to proactively and systematically identify, assess, and manage potential threats or concerning behaviors that may pose a risk of harm to students, staff or the school community ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
OUR WORK WILL CONSIST OF:
To fulfill our VISION & MISSION, the Ilima Intermediate School BTAM Team will:
Provide assistance to individuals affected by reported concerning behaviors within the school community.
Address behavioral issues at the lowest possible levels to minimize risk.
Offer recommendations for suitable intervention strategies.
Collect and document information, evaluating situations involving individuals of concern.
Facilitate connections between individuals of concern and internal or external resources as needed.
Monitor individuals of concern identified by the BTAM Team while on the Ilima Intermediate School campus.
Identify individuals whose behavior poses health and safety risks, taking appropriate actions in the school's best interest.
Enhance school community awareness of BTAM Team reporting and processes.
Collaborate with external partners such as Threat Team Hawaiʻi (TTH) and other relevant teams when addressing health and safety issues.
Maintain accurate and lawful record-keeping practices in accordance with state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
