Join AVID for SY 2027–2028! A specialized elective that empowers students with leadership, organizational skills, and academic confidence for future college and career success.

AVID, which stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, is a rigorous academic elective course with a sequential curriculum for grades 6 through 12. Students may elect to continue to be in AVID at the high school level, including James Campbell High School, which is a Demonstration School. The program places special emphasis on fostering a community of teamwork and critical thinkers who build writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading skills. AVID students hone their skills to be successful leaders and role models throughout the school year.

Collaborative Tutorials & Higher-Level Inquiry: Solve challenging problems alongside supportive peers.
