According to the AHA, approximately 48% of Americans have some form of cardiovascular disease
According to a Cleveland Clinic Survey, 18% of people know their BMI and only 38% of people know their blood pressure
According to an AHA journal study, 45% of heart attacks are "silent". Silent heart attacks have the same impact of normal heart attacks, but are only noticed by EKGs.
The same study claims that patients with silent heart attacks are 34% more likely to die from heart disease (because they don't receive treatment)
Heart disease is the leading cause of death (1 in 4 deaths annually), but can be avoided if patients, especially those at higher risk, exercise and eat healthier
What is our solution?
We plan to create simple, small-check-in clinics that provide low-cost screenings for cardiovascular and respiratory conditions to promote health awareness.
Our task is to open clinics in areas where it is the most necessary and could benefit the most amount of people. If people know their health status, they can help prevent the onset of costly, often incurable diseases.
