Whether you’re looking to advance your existing scientific research or want to make your own novel scientific research idea a reality, we’ve got you covered.
New information for 2025!
Whether you’re looking to advance your existing scientific research or want to make your own novel scientific research idea a reality, we’ve got you covered.
Science fairs are an annual competition that allows students to do independent research. Students can design experiments, engineer solutions, and come up with solutions to everyday problems. A science fair competitor must attend the Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair (DRSEF) and be chosen among a pool of other cross-district students to compete in the Texas Science and Engineering Fair.
Our goal is to assist students in conducting their own novel, independent research that they can submit to the science fair. The FHS science fair club will provide students with the platform, resources, tools, and knowledge they need to successfully complete their research through informational meetings that facilitate ideation, check-ins, proposals, outreach, equipment assistance, and constructive criticism.

The Texas Science and Engineering Fair (TXSEF) is an annual science state competition in which students must clear school and regional level state fairs to enter.
For our school, a science fair competitor must attend the Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair (DRSEF) and be chosen amongst a pool of various other cross-district students to compete in the Texas Science and Engineering Fair.
The deadline to submit your project on Scienteer for the Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair is in February and our club aims to serve as an accompaniment to your journey in terms of brainstorming, check-in, proposals, and outreach/equipment assistance.
We aim to meet on a biweekly basis (the second A-day of B-day weeks) in order to resolve any questions for science fair projects, collaborate, and provide feedback to each other's projects to prepare for the final submission mentioned earlier. We will meet on the first B day of every other week during flex.
