Title: Inventor Functions Project
Name: Aman Balam
Class Period: 1B
Home Campus: Heritage High School
Project Objective: Create various tools and shapes using knowledge of Inventor
Design Process: I first created all the different parts using Inventor. Then I assembled it all together using multiple functions such as the insert and angle constraints and mirror.Â
Learning Target: The purpose of this project was to learn about more constraints and different tools that could be used to create and merge different parts and to familiarize myself with Inventor.
Personal Reflection: This project was one of the harder projects because of some errors I had when firstly creating particular shapes. This kept causing problems because the cams couldn't rotate all the way. However, I enjoyed the experience because I learned of the existence and got practice with using tools such as cut and tangent. Furthermore, the new constraints, angle, and insert were extremely useful in later projects. Additionally, the involvement of making the assembled project do action was interesting because it brought to light the existence and use of different projects that could show a certain part performing an action.Â
Title: Automata

Class Period: 1B
Home Campus: Heritage High School
Project Objective: Create a functioning automata box that uses rotating cams to perform an action.
Design Process: I first created all the different parts using the dimensioning notes and pictures that were given. Then I assembled it all together using different constraints such as the insert and angle constraints. Then, I used the rotating tool to make the lever arm spin causing the cams inside to rotate. Finally, I added attachments on top of the box that corresponds to a self-determined theme.
Learning Target: The purpose of this project was to learn about more constraints and different tools that could be used to create and merge different parts.
Personal Reflection: This project was one of the harder projects because of some errors I had when firstly dimensioning, this kept causing problems because the cams couldn't rotate all the way. However, it was still very enjoyable and helpful because I learned of the existence and got practice with using tools such as cut and tangent. Furthermore, the new constraints, angle, and insert were extremely useful in later projects. Additionally, the involvement of making the assembled project do action was interesting because it brought to light the existence and use of different projects that could show a certain part performing an action.Â
Title: Beverage Server
Name: Aman Balam
Class Period: 1B
Home Campus: Heritage High School
Project Objective: Create, assemble, and represent different parts to make a cup holder/tray.
Design Process: First, I created the different parts, following the given dimensions and correct tools for holes and such. Then, I assembled them together which is shown through the exploded pictorial and the isometric view. Furthermore, I finished it off with a bottle with a design that was being held by my cup holder.
Learning Target: This project was extra practice with dimensioning and the use of different tools to manipulate the parts.
Personal Reflection: This project helped strengthen my base for Inventor, I felt that I was becoming more comfortable with creating and manipulating the different parts, furthermore, combining the different parts also became much easier during this project. It also helped me correct any past mistakes that I had made with, for example, puzzle cube and other projects like that. Conclusively, this project wasn't that influential as the other ones, but it was fun creating something functional and usable in current society.
Title: Isometric Shapes
Name: Aman Balam
Class Period: 1B
Home Campus: Heritage High School
Project Objective: Create 10 isometric shapes following given dimensioning. Then, create drawings with the correct front, side, and top view for each shape while simultaneously dimensioning them in corresponding locations.
Design Process: First, I used the sheet that was given to us for the dimensions, and using my knowledge of Inventor's capabilities, I correctly created each shape. Then, I put them in drawings that corresponded to the correct front views that were given. Lastly, I dimensioned each of the pieces correctly, fulfilling all requirements.
Learning Target: The learning target was to improve the ability to dimension and get some more practice with creating different shapes using different tools.
Personal Reflection: This project was a useful tool in learning how to dimension correctly. I had some trouble at the beginning with creating some of the shapes, but by the end of the project, I learned how to correctly use the extrude, chamfer, and other simple tools. Furthermore, my dimensioning abilities were also improved as a result of this project. As I tried dimensioning, I encountered problems on what to dimension and where, but I quickly learned to adapt to reading off the given sheet which already gave the necessary information; I just need to alter my perspective to understand exactly what the given sheet with the dimensions was implicating.
Title: Puzzle Cube
Name: Aman Balam
Class Period: 1B
Home Campus: Heritage High School
Project Objective: Create CAD representations of parts of a puzzle cube with correct dimensions. Then, create drawings of 5 parts of a disassembled cube and dimension them accordingly. Assemble the cube then make an exploded pictorial with an attached parts list on a page.
Design Process: I was first instructed to make the different parts of this puzzle cube on Inventor, a software used to construct theoretical representations of an object, and afterward, I used the newly created parts to construct IDWs which hosted unshaded front, right side, and top views along with a shaded isometric view. Then, I dimensioned all the pieces with the correct given dimensions. Moving on, I transitioned to assembling the cube and after this, I created an isometric pictorial that showed where each piece was supposed to go. Then I created a new sheet that had the isometric view of my assembled cube and my exploded pictorial. Using the assembled cube, I finished it off with a parts list.
Learning Target: The learning target was to get more familiar with the different tasks that could be undertaken in Inventor and practice dimensioning.
Personal Reflection: This project was extremely helpful in understanding all of the different parts of Inventor, it offered a broad overview of the software. I feel that I did quite well on this project as I did all the dimensioning and used all the different parts correctly. It was an extremely beneficial project to deepen my understanding of Inventor.
