Concert Chorus
Meeting Time: During School Day | Credits: 0.5 Semester / 1.0 Full Year
In this course, students will learn how to sing and utilize their voices through the study and performance of choral music. Students will sing many genres of music from classical, funk, pop, rock, country, musical theatre and more. In the process of preparing music, students develop vocal technique, aural skills, elements of expression, and musicianship skills. The course includes participation in occasional community performances and concerts with a few possible after school rehearsals. It is important to note that students must be enrolled in an ensemble in order to be eligible to audition for MMEA Northeast Districts or All-State festivals.
Students participating in Honors Concert Choir will enroll in the whole year and must complete two additional projects. Students electing Concert Choir do not need to elect the honors level until the class is in session.
Chamber Choir
Meeting Time: During School Day | Credits: 1.0 Full Year
In this course, students develop a high level of musicianship and proficiency in this advanced, auditioned ensemble. They explore and perform a variety of choral literature, vocal techniques, and advanced sight-singing. Students perform in both accompanied and unaccompanied performances. Repertoire is varied and includes pop, jazz, classical, and more. Participation is expected in community performances, festivals, and home concerts. Students enrolled in Chamber Choir are also eligible to audition for MMEA Northeastern District Festival.

Back to Bass-ics, Tenor/Bass Show Choir

Back to Bass-ics is Andover High’s audition-only Tenor/Bass Show Choir. Students develop musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance, study of appropriate literature, vocal techniques, sight singing, and choreography. Repertoire includes selections from popular music, jazz standards, and Broadway musicals. Show Choir has a heavy schedule of extracurricular performances throughout the year including competitions and festivals. Students should not request this course on their Course Selection Sheet; they will be assigned after group selection. Students enrolled in Show Choir MUST ALSO be enrolled in at least one semester of an in-school performing arts ensemble (Concert Band, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Concert Chorus, or Chamber Choir).
Nothin' But Treble, Alto/Soprano Show Choir

Nothin' But Treble is Andover High’s audition-only Alto/Soprano Show Choir. Students develop musicianship and proficiency in ensemble performance, study of appropriate literature, vocal techniques, sight singing, and choreography. Repertoire includes selections from popular music, jazz standards, and Broadway musicals. Show Choir has a heavy schedule of extracurricular performances throughout the year including competitions and festivals that are required. From Start to Finish, Mixed Show Choir

A Cappella Ensemble
Meeting Time: TBA
The A Cappella group meets once a week and is a voluntary, non-graded ensemble. Students in this group perform around the community and focus on music that does not have accompaniments. This repertoire is varied but mostly includes pop, jazz, and rock styles. Student leadership is a focus of this ensemble.
