Information for Digital Exams ONLY

PRE EXAM INFO

    • COMPUTER:

      1. Students may use their own personal desktop, laptop, or school borrowed chromebook (no personal chromebooks are allowed)

      2. Make sure you know your AP Login. SUPER IMPORTANT

    • DIGITAL TESTING PREPARATION- College Board video gives you a visual overview of this process. Link here. or Scroll below for screenshots of process.

      1. Step 1 Installation NOW: Students will need to install the AP Exam Application on the device they plan to use If using your own device, download it here. If using a school Chromebook, it will already be downloaded for you. This video will walk you through it. When the app is installed, open it and log in with your College Board username and password. This completes the installation process.

      2. Step 2 Practice NOW: Digital practice gives students the chance to practice with example questions in the same application they’ll use on exam day and confirm that their technology works as expected.

      3. Step 3 Complete Readiness Setup: At least 3 days prior to the exam date and no later than a day before. For each digital AP Exam you must complete the exam setup step in the digital testing app. This step loads your exam onto the computer you're going to test with. You will also be agreeing to the AP Exam Terms and Conditions. AP will send you a copy of this so you can read it before. Once setup is completed, the computer CANNOT shared with another student until the exam is over and responses have been submitted to the AP Program

      4. Step 4 Checking In: On exam day, you must check in at least 30 minutes before the official start time of the exam—at 11:30 a.m. for 12 noon and 3:30 p.m. for 4 p.m. exams—to complete final pre-exam checks. If you don’t start check-in before the start time of the exam, you won’t be allowed to test and will have to request a makeup exam. Once you complete the check-in, you will see a timer at the top of the screen counting down the time remaining until the start time of the exam. The exam will begin automatically.

    • FYI:

      1. Please note that while taking the digital-version exam, students will not be able to go back to unanswered multiple-choice questions. However, if a student skips a question, there will be a prompt asking them if they are sure they want to skip the question. Additional information can be found on the College Board website: Digital Exams Overview and Specific Exam Information by Topic.

      2. Textbooks and notes are not permitted. We understand students taking digital exams at home may have access to these materials. To prevent students from gaining an unfair advantage, digital exams will not include questions that can be answered with internet searches, textbooks, notes, study guides, or similar material. Digital exams will not have any unfair advantages. Not easier, nor harder.

      3. Email reminders will be sent to students from the College Board AP Program. Students MUST check the email they used to register for their College Board AP Classroom account.

      4. Accommodations: Digital AP Exams will be accessible to students with disabilities who have received approval for testing accommodations by the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities office.
