MyK-Coins ("the App") is a mobile application developed and operated by K-Coop IT Unit. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.
We collect the following personal information when you use the App:
Account Information — username, first name, last name, and member ID used to authenticate your identity
Financial Information — savings account balances, loan balances, transaction history, equity account data, and amortization schedules
Loan Application Data — loan amount, loan product, payment term, co-maker information, beneficiary details (name, relationship, date of birth), and cash flow information submitted during a loan application
Contact Information — mobile number provided during loan application
Device Information — device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and support purposes
We do not collect:
Payment card numbers
Biometric data
Precise GPS location
Contacts or photos from your device
We use the information we collect to:
Authenticate your identity and provide secure access to your account
Display your savings, loan, and equity account information
Process and submit loan applications on your behalf
Show your transaction history and amortization schedules
Improve app performance and fix technical issues
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations as a cooperative
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information only in the following situations:
Within KMBA — your information is shared with authorized cooperative staff (such as your SocioEconomic Officer) to process your accounts and loan applications
Legal Requirements — if required by law, court order, or government regulation
Service Providers — trusted technical service providers who help operate our backend systems, under strict confidentiality agreements
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including:
Encrypted HTTPS connections (TLS) for all data transmission
Token-based authentication (JWT) that expires periodically
Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only
Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your password confidential and log out when not in use.
We retain your personal information for as long as your membership account is active, or as required by Philippine cooperative laws and regulations. When your account is closed, your data may be retained for a period required by law before being securely deleted.
As a member, you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Deletion — request deletion of your data, subject to legal and regulatory retention requirements
Withdrawal of Consent — stop using the App at any time
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 10.
The App is intended for use by adult cooperative members only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
