Field Hockey

What is Field Hockey?

Field hockey is a sport offered in the fall for any girls in grades 9 - 12. There is a Junior team for girls in grades 9 & 10 and a Senior team for girls in grades 11 & 12. The sport is a mixture of ice hockey and soccer. There are 11 girls on the field (like soccer), and you play with a stick (like hockey). The stick is shorter than an ice hockey stick, and is right handed. You DO NOT need to have any experience to play field hockey! The coaches will teach you everything you need to know. If you are interested in trying out for the team, listen to announcements the first week of school in September. All you need is a pair of shin guards and a mouth guard to tryout. A stick will be provided for you.
