How to prepare over the summer:

  • Each subject has got a weekly breakdown to keep the work simple.

  • Access the subject summary sheet after induction.

  • Schedule a weekly slot for each subject this week.

  • Have a clear and calm space where you will work.

  • You know from GCSE that small chunks often work best so make a start early this summer to ease into Year 12 full of knowledge.

Tips for Sixth Form Success

Your School Day

  • Organise: Arrive by 8am.


  • Chunk: Start study/home work early and chunk it.


  • Routine: Have a study session timetable.


  • Purpose: Start study session work quickly to build routine.

Communication

  • Ask: Use emails to talk to your teachers.


  • Organise: Use folders to make key files easy to find.


  • Check: Check them a few times a day.


  • Reach out: Talk to the sixth form team, they your best source of help.


General Advice

  • Preview: Use YouTube to pre-learn lesson content.


  • Organise: Have organised folders, answer lots of questions, keep on top of work.


  • Routine: Use routines to use your time well.


  • Reward: After your hard work treat yourself to something that you love doing.
