Joy Hibbs was born in 1955 to Albert and Tommie Auvil in Ocala, Florida. She was the youngest of nine children and was raised in Chiefland, Florida.
Joy was competitive at a young age and ran track and field in High school. It was in high school where she met her sweetheart and future husband, Charlie Hibbs. They married shortly after graduation. Joy and Charlie were a perfect compliment to each other. Joy was the gentle social butterfly and Charlie the hardworking introvert. It wasn't long after their wedding that they started growing their family. Angie was born January 3rd, 1975 and David followed four years later on September 30th 1978.
Joy loved life and was proud of her family. She loved to get outside and enjoyed all aspects of nature. She especially enjoyed, hiking, fishing, and camping. She had a green thumb and loved growing vegetables in her garden. Food was one of her many love languages. Some of her favorite dishes included pecan pie, potato salad, and fried okra. She was an avid football fan and spent Monday nights rooting for the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys. Joy had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles with her husband.
Joy loved animals and once worked as a veterinary assistant. She also loved people and wanted to make a difference in their lives. She eventually went back to school and became a certified medical assistant and worked for a family medicine practice in Bensalem, PA. She was loved and adored by her colleagues and patients.
Joy appreciated and loved music, especially Country and Rock -N- Roll. Some of her favorites included Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Kenny Rogers, and Brian Adams. Joy was always on the hunt for a good deal and loved to haggle at local flea markets and yard sales on the weekends.
