Rustic Lane Elementary Community Schools hosted a highly engaging STEAM Night, providing hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math activities for students and families. Nearly 300 community members attended, along with partners from TODEC, Riverside Health, Primerica Financial Planning, and Mission Middle School’s Dell Tech team, strengthening family and community engagement.
Our community gathered on November 1st for a Dia de los Muertos Family Picnic. Students created art work that was displayed and our feeder highschool brought their Ballet Folklorico dancers to perform.
Students in grades 3-6 were invited to participate in an after-school book club. 100 students participated in reading, discussing, and completing activities surrounding the novel, Wild Robot. After the book club was completed we held a Wild Robot Family Movie Night at our local Jurupa 14 theatre.
Families visited our Community Schools Classroom and filled out positive notes for their students to enjoy on their first day of school. We also had a PICO resource table and resources from our Community Closet available.
Strengthening Families is designed to help children succeed in school and life by strengthening the connections between families and school. The program consists of 14 meetings which include family dinner, kids time, parent time, and child time.
