Elementary Strings is ONLY offered at Ina Arbuckle Elementary, Pacific Avenue Music Academy, Rustic Lane Elementary, and West Riverside Elementary Schools. Students must be in grades 4-6 in order to participate. All 4th grade students will start off on recorder. 5th grade and 6th grade strings students will get the options of playing the violin OR the viola.

Where can I get an instrument?

Borrow: The JUSD strings program has many instruments that students can borrow from. Please see your strings teacher to get put on the list to borrow an instrument.
Buy or Rent: Students can visit a music store (website or in-person) and select the instrument of their choice. You can rent from most local music stores online and they will deliver the instrument directly to your home or school. Below are links to local store rental pages.
