Hi y'all! My name is Brittany Leonard and I teach Government, World History, and Honors World History. I'm from Texas, where I graduated from Azle High School in 2017. While in high school I realized my life-long love for history and carried that into my studies at Brigham Young University, where I graduated in 2023. While studying history education (and minoring in geography education), I published an article (found here) and worked with two history professors (Dr. Jeff Nokes and Dr. Grant Madsen) in the classroom and with their research. My work with them has greatly influenced my approach to teaching and learning history. My paper on an economic history of a female Utah native earned me a History Department Paper Award. I am honored to be the Juab High School 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year, which in part came because of my wonderful students.
I enjoy traveling and am extremely passionate about learning about people and their stories. I have a firm belief that when we understand our history and how it connects peoples and cultures, we are learning more about ourselves as individuals. This reflects in my classroom and I am excited to help you learn about yourself in a different way!
