Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to fourth grade! Once again this school year, your child will study all subjects within his/her homeroom. Being a fourth grader means that more is expected of the students. Throughout the year, students will be expected to do more schoolwork, homework, projects much more independently than in the primary grades.
In an effort to help your child to make the adjustment to fourth grade and to assist with organizational skills, there is a color-coding system that is utilized. Math papers/folders will be yellow. Science papers/folders will be green. Social Studies papers/folders will be blue. Language Arts papers will be white and the folders will be red. Additionally, there will be no more than one test on any day.
I realize that this is a significant change for your child, and strongly believe that the way the year is planned year will make fourth grade a very successful experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your cooperation.
