We're looking for a talented and motivated Civil Engineer to join our growing team and help deliver quality infrastructure projects that support our community.
About the role:
As a Civil Engineer at JT Contractors Ltd, you'll work on a diverse range of projects including pavement constructions and maintenance, earthworks and drainage. You'll be part of a close-knit team committed to practical, sustainable solutions and high-quality workmanship.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in the design, planning and execution of civil engineering projects
Liaise with clients, councils and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery
Monitor site work to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards
Prepare reports, documentation and support consent processes
What we're looking for:
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Minimum 2 years experience preferred (but graduates are welcome to apply)
Practical, hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills
Familiarity with New Zealand engineering standards and codes

Health & Safety Coordinator - Full Time (Gisborne/Wairoa)

We're looking for a talented and motivated Health & Safety Coordinator to join our growing team and help deliver quality infrastructure projects that support our community.
About the role:
This is a hands-on role supporting all levels of the business to ensure health and safety systems are understood, followed and continuously improved. You'll be based in Gisborne and work closely with site-teams, management and subcontractors to promote a safe, healthy and compliant work environment.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day health and safety practices across multiple sites
Conduct site audits, toolbox talks and incident investigations
Maintain and update health and safety documentation and pre qualifications
Provide training, support and guidance to staff and contractors
Ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation and WorkSafe requirements
What we're looking for:
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in civil construction or trades
Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety regulations
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety (or working towards one)
A practical mindset and confidence working on active sites
