Bio:
Dr. Yongfeng Zhao earned his PhD. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Engineering. During following postdoctoral research, he studied on interaction of surface and biomolecules, developed peptide microarray for measuring protease activity in the Department of Bioengineering at University of California, Riverside. Later, he worked in Medical School at Washington University in St Louis. There he developed nanomaterials for diagnosis, imaging, and treatment of diseases such as cancer. He also participated phase zero clinical trial of a diagnostic nanoparticle. He is currently an associate professor from Jackson State University. His current research interests are focused on earlier diagnosis and imaging guided therapy of cancer. His research team’s effort was recognized by the NSF CAREER Award, NSF EPSCoR, NSF RIA, and NSF EiR.
