Summary
We focus on Hydrology, Remote Sensing, and Water Resources. We use innovative science-based solutions for integrated water resources management, using Hydroclimatic Data, Earth Observations, Water System Models, Climate Models, Geospatial models, Machine Learning, and Participatory Models. We also conduct researches on investigating water-related issues, their cascading impacts and risk management strategies within a multisector system. We are working on other few research domains, including

5) Urban Heat Island and heatwaves

Mr. Poudel received Energy Balance Chapman Travel Grant to attend AGU-Chapman Conference 2026 on Updating Usable Projections of Future Sea Level, Montreal, Canada, June 8–11, 2026.
Dr. Talchabhadel received Travel Grant to attend ADRE-EPIC Data Assimilation Training and Science Workshop in Norman, OK, on 1-5 June 2026.

Dr. Talchabhadel and team received 1st Prize in Microsoft Mini-Grant Finale Showcase in Atlanta, December 2025. [Prize Money: $8,000]
Mr. Bhattarai, and Ms. Bhandari, along with two undergrads (Mr. Terrett and Mr. Jones) were selected as the Finalist, and the team received an Honorable Mention [Prize Money: $1,000] in the 2025 Data Challenge Grand Finale, Atlanta, December 2025.

Dr. Talchabhadel and Mr. Bhattarai represented Talchabhadel Lab as invited speakers at the 2nd GeoMandu Conference, presenting on multi-hazard risk assessment and resilient infrastructure management.
Dr. Talchabhadel delivered a keynote address at SCTM 24, highlighting the use of ground- and satellite-based data for informed engineering designs in a changing climate.
