AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Clement G. Yedjou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biology at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Heath Science with a concentration in molecular pharmacology and toxicology. His current research focuses on assessing medicinal plants as anti-cancer agents in managing prostate cancer and breast cancer using neoplastic cancer cells and mouse models. He has secured external competitive grants as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI. So far, he has published 72 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, and his work has been cited more than 8,763 times according to Google Scholar. He authored eight book chapters and has presented several short courses and more than 120 keynote and invited talks in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Since COVID-19, he has expanded his research program to include techniques such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Using these data science techniques, he recently published four peer-reviewed articles with colleagues and students. He had supervised 13 high school students and 42 undergraduate research students in the past, all of whom have completed their bachelor’s degrees. He had also supervised 11 master’s and 15 doctorate students at various stages of their research careers from many scholarly programs. Many of his research contributions in the field of cancer have made international news and have been featured, reported, and highlighted on: NewsRx.com, Nigerian Tribune, MDLinx.com, Pharmacy News & Articles, Mississippi Link, and Clarion-Ledger. He serves as a review panelist for federal grant-funding agencies from the United Kingdom Prostate Cancer Research Centre, DoD, NSF, and The CCNY-MSK Partnership for Research, Education, and Community Outreach. He serves as an academic editor for the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, and a reviewer of more than 13 journals. He has received prestigious awards including Young Investigator Award; Faculty Scholar Award for Cancer Research, Academy for Research & Scholarly Engagement Award; Research Center in Minority Institutes Award; STEM Leadership Award; and Provost's Digital Learning Initiative Award.

In addition to research, Dr. Yedjou is a champion in teaching with technology. His current teaching strategies involve interactive media, innovative group discussions, innovative technologies, and hands-on activities that help increase students’ learning and provide them with skills such as time management, self-discipline, and independence. They develop a serious attitude towards learning. He previously served as a Program Director for Distance Learning in the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Jackson State University (JSU). He has received two curriculum grant awards funded by the National Institutes of Health to develop a successful Online Master’s Degree Program IN Biology Education at JSU. Before Dr. Yedjou joined FAMU in January 2020, he graduated 15 master’s students from the program. Dr. Yedjou has developed and taught several online courses including Introduction to Biological Sciences, General Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Human Physiology, Human Nutrition, Environmental Health, Environmental and Occupational Health, and Histopathology. He has published three peer-reviewed articles on distance learning education and presented his research findings on distance learning education at several national and international conferences. He has served as a session chair at the “Annual Sloan-C International Conference on Online Learning” and “The Creating Futures through Technology Conference” He recently published a book-chapter entitled “Technology Enhanced Student Learning, Improved Engagement, and Performance in an Anatomy and Physiology Course” in the peer-reviewed of IGI Global Journal.
