Mensch Ärgere Dich Nicht is a board game invented in 1902 by Josef Friedrich Schmidt. Although this game isn't a typical German style, it has gone on to influence bard game we know in the US like Sorry, Trouble and Aggrivation. It lives up to it's name "Don't get annoyed, man" because you have to roll a dice to get out of a "time out" zone.
Although it can be annoying, Middle School at Parkside students enjoyed playing with one another and letting the elementary students play along while learning German color words "rot, grün, blau, gelb, purpur, schwarz." This version of the game was made for younger players and the die had colors and no numbers. The older version is a great way to practice German numbers, without getting annoyed.
