Hi! I'm Mrs. Hogue, I teach ELA which is Reading, Language, Spelling, and Writing. In third grade we study guidebooks, or novel study. Our units are the Louisiana Purchase, Cajun Folktales, Because of Winn Dixie, and an Application Unit. In third grade we will be focusing on three types of writing opinion, literary analysis, and expository. After we write each essay I will allow students to present their essays like authors. I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade ELA this year. It's going to be a great year!!!
