Students - Do you know of any clubs/extracurricular activities at school that you would be interested in? If you’re already in one, what do you enjoy the most about it?
Mentors - Were you a part of any clubs or extracurricular activities in high school or college? What made you choose that? What did you learn from it/was it helpful to you in some way?
Mentors - How did you navigate school work and extracurricular involvement?
Guiding Questions:
Use this time to help your student start implementing positive time management skills into their week! Please ask them to get out a piece of paper or their planner and write these things down.
Start by asking if they have a planner or what type of system they use to organize themself.
Make a list of important deadlines/events you may have for the next two weeks (ex. Sports game, test, project due, etc.). If they don’t know off of the top their head have them log in to their class websites to check!
Write out your personal goals (long and short term). These goals can be new or old ones that you have shared before.
Long term goals should be anywhere from 1 week to 1 semester. Short term goals should be within the time frame of 1 week, but usually 1-2 days.
Help your student make their schedule for tomorrow from the morning to evening.
Have your student set reminders to start working on those tasks! Reminders can be as simple as sticky notes or through an app on your phone.
Encourage them to do this each week and plan ahead!
Discuss any relaxation tips that you know of or talk about establishing a pre-test routine to help with test anxiety.

Mentor- Discuss with your student the importance of learning about Mental Health, Life Stressors, and Healthy Coping Skills.
Student - Do you have any questions on anything covered in the presentation? What is something new you learned from the presentation on Mental Health and Coping Skills?
Student- Are there any coping skills you learned about in the presentation that you have used or are currently using? What is a coping skill you want to use after this meeting?
Mentors- What are coping skills you have used in your life? Have these coping skills changed throughout your life? Any consistent?
Student- What are some life stressors that you are worried about at the moment, that either affect you or affect someone you care about?
Mentors- Discuss the importance of positive affirmations with your student. Please share with your student positive affirmations that you used in your life and how they have helped you.

The goal is for your student to get a better understanding of the requirements of each section, the years the student would need to complete each section, and the type of college or university that requires this of students. While you’re building this puzzle please make sure to ask students:
